The Laws of Attraction and the Economy

Listening to the experts of doom and gloom is not in anyone's best interests and who knows who is going to benefit by having a negative outlook. Prices have been rising since time began and the only way to handle these increases is to seek alternate avenues of revenue. Doing a retreat into the hills is folly and unnecessary as there are serious business ventures for the taking and will more than compensate for any increases.

There will always be opportunities for smart minded folks and there are no apparent reasons why everyone cannot be smart, but the hills are alive with the sounds of fleeing heels. Any good fisherman will attest to the facts that if one type of lure does not work, then reach into your storage basket and find another one. Fish are no different when it comes to satisfying their needs, maybe that particular fish just liked shiny things and you caught him. Doing whatever it takes to get the job done within reason will open up many options and later reward you with the satisfaction of success. The fish may not always bite but on average they surely will if you are persistent enough with the necessary commitment level and increasing activity.

When seeking your alternate revenue avenue remember that everyone has different likes, dislikes, needs and wants. Realizing that you have the potential to have a good chance at filling one or more of those wants will trigger the kind of vehicle you will be driving.

The Laws of Attraction do not keep a secret from anyone who has the openness of inquiry, the desire to act and the willingness to believe that an 5A7opportunity is awaiting at the edge of the hills of any economy. The opportunities are always there, the only difference is you are now wanting to attract them, good economy, bad economy, mediocre economy. Begin the dream and you will realize it!

History Maker-World Shaker - Living From the Inside Out

Some of us set new years resolutions, some of us don't believe in them but in goals revised daily (I'm one of those). Either way, we all set goals some or another time that are huge! Some of them are hair-raising. Many of them were suppose to change the destiny of humanity forever. We all have dreams and goals of being a history maker and a world shaker. Somehow goals are being compromised and are never achieved as it was planned. Goals that were suppose to have a lasting impact on society, died and left the person unfulfilled discouraged and frustrated.

Why is there only a hand full of history makers? Why do so many dreams and goals fade away? What's missing? Why do we seldom see lasting results? Maybe it is because we live in a quick fix world where we want to fix things in a step by step guide that tells us exactly what we are suppose to do and not to do. Maybe that is why we compromise our goals so easily. What if there were no limits whatsoever on any goal you set? Imagine the impact AB9on the world and your life...

In his book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", Stephen Covey makes a very powerful statement by saying that all lasting change start from the inside out. No lasting change can ever take place if something hasn't happened on the inside; in your consciousness. No diet pill will ever have a lasting change if you haven't found the inside story to the weight problem. No African country can ever be changed without passion that is first developed from the inside and then manifested to the outside. No financial success can ever be achieved if there isn't any inside relationship with money first.

No step to step guide will ever work if the right principles aren't applied in it. All major goals can be achieved, but only so if the person is willing enough to take a journey and apply the necessary principles to it.

Therefore I commit myself to publish a series of articles based on the idea that every goal can be achieved, exactly as planned, through a journey that will include 3 parts:

  • The Destination
  • The Map
  • Momentum

These 3 parts will be based on principles and can therefore only be a journey by means of that.

We are human beings, not human doings. Human doings follow guides and quick fixes. Human beings can act independently; independent of circumstances and outside influences because the inside has become stronger than the outside.

What if by being a human being, results can finally be ever lasting and goals can be achieved with exact precision?

What goals will revolutionize your life in 2008?

Law of Attraction Myths Debunked

If you're anything like me, sometimes when you're working with affirmations, positive thinking and the law of attraction you can wonder: "How soon will this work?"

This is especially true when you're stuck and feeling like things will never budge.

We all have our "problem areas." These might be money, relationships, health, or some combination of the above.

This is usually because we have what I call a "psychic deficit" in that area of our lives. We've come to expect problems in that area and have deeply held beliefs that are negative.

Why do those negative expectations take root in the first place? Because we're psychic sponges who basically soak up all the "data" that is floating around us.

If you were raised in an atmosphere where money was a problem, you're going to have some negative expectations around money to overcome.

If you grew up around people who were very dysfunctional and uncaring, you'll have to do some work on releasing negative beliefs about receiving love and affection.

If you spent a lot of time around people who were physically ill or who were hypochondriacs - always worrying about health - you will have unconsciously picked up some of those same negative beliefs around your own health. So you'll have to discharge some of that build up of negative expectations arou5B4nd your health if your desire is to improve your health.

I'll be honest with you. It can take time - even years - to release negative beliefs in some of these "problem areas."

But the good news about affirmations and the law of attraction is that you can start seeing great results very quickly in areas that aren't your problem zones. If you have no build up of negative beliefs around something, you'll manifest wonderful stuff in that area quickly. So start working with some smaller, simpler goals and you'll soon be encouraged by how quickly great things manifest. This will give you encouragement and motivation as you start to tackle the harder stuff.

The less resistance you have around receiving positive things and events, the more you'll have success in using the law of attraction to manifest what you want quickly.

So I encourage you to dig a little bit, to be honest with yourself about negative beliefs that are deeply entrenched so you can become more aware of them. By shining a light on them and seeing them clearly you'll know what you need to start working on. And if you are persistent with tools like affirmations and visualizations, you will see positive results over time.

And in the meantime, start experimenting with the law of attraction for smaller, simpler things. You'll be amazed at how powerful you are at creating your own reality. Then it will be much less daunting as you start working on "big4F4ger" projects.

And don't forget - have fun with it! The more you can be in a state of joy and excitement, the faster your intentions will manifest on the physical plane.

If you'd like to make the law of attraction work faster and see positive results sooner, download my free audio: "The Law of Attraction - How Soon Will It Work?" at my website: http://www.free-daily-affirmation.com

Blessed in the Middle of Life's Mess

Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a bad situation where most of what was happening was not your fault?

You and I know that most of what happens to us is of our own design. We cannot make a car payment because we spent too much on vacation. We have a disobedient child because we refuse to follow any proper parenting guidelines. We have trouble with our boss at work because we refuse to walk in grace and submission. We have a fight with our spouse (or children) and make a conscious decision to stand on some crazy principle that just makes things worse. I am not talking about those kinds of situations.

I am thinking more about the situation where you are promised a specific thing 5B4from someone for 7-years of service and then when your time is up they trick you into taking something else. Yet, you still want that other item because it is beautiful and you love it. So the owner of that item agrees to give it to you if you work another 7-years.

It would be like being a business partner who is promised a huge bonus and a share in the company after 7-years. When the seven years are over you are tricked and offered a manager's position with an option to work another 7-years for what was already promised after the first 7-years.

We would sue them. We would be furious. We would leave the company. There is no way we could be blessed in this type of situation.

Sheer trickery!

It is the story of Jacob. It is the Jacob who loved Rachel but was tricked, after 7-years, into marrying her sister Leah. It is the Jacob who then agreed to work another 7-years for his father-in-law Laban so that he could marry Rachel (read Genesis 29-30).

And it never says that Jacob was angry. Jacob did not leave the country to go back home and he was abundantly blessed in a bad situation not of his making.

In the middle of these circumstances, however, Jacob was extremely blessed. Jacob was the father of 12-sons and a daughter. He was greatly successful in his business endeavors. In fact, so successful that he became wealthier than Laban for whom he worked.

In the middle of a bad situation God 5B4continues to bless us. It is simply who He is. The painful situation that Jacob was in developed in him strength of character that he did not have before.

Do you remember that Jacob tricked his father Isaac into giving him the family blessing instead of his older brother Esau? Back at home Jacob had a brother who hated him. Esau vowed to revenge Jacob's deceitful act but during Jacob's time in the desert God softened the heart of Esau so that when they were reunited there was peace instead of war.

God does not need the palace to prosper us. God does not need us to be in a good situation to bless us. God is not dependent upon the perfect set of circumstances to work His will in our lives.

Joseph was blessed and rose to the top of the empire while still an Egyptian captive never to be free again. Daniel was in the same situationa foreigner who depended upon God and found great favor in the eyes of his captors which led to incredible access to kings and personal success.

Jesus, the Savior of our souls, was born into a people ruled by Romans and into an area occupied by an enemy army. Even in the midst of uncontrollable circumstances God can use us, bless us, and give us a life of peace.

You can bet on it.

How To Recall Your Dreams

Everyone dreams. The issue is not, as Shakespeare put it in Hamlet, "to sleep, perchance to dream," but rather "to dream, perchance to remember." Some people recall their dreams vividly without any special effort. Others retain a few fleeting images or nothing at all. But no matter how well - or poorly - you have recalled your dreams in the past, if you like to remember them, you can. It is a simply matter of self-training. Dream recall is surprisingly easy. Here are some tips that you can consider doing it.

Don't Hold Out For The Full Picture. Cling to any dream fragments you recall and jot them down, even if they do not make a coherent story. Over time, memories of disjointed images or scenes expand into memories of entire dre5B4ams.

Capture Memories Quickly. Place a pad and pen by your bed before you retire. Whenever you wake up, jot down as much as you can remember of your dreams. The next morning, write up your notes in story form, filling in any details you did not previously jot down. Some people find that using a flashlight rather than turning on a lamp helps them hold onto those fleeting dream memories. Or use a small handheld tape recorder, the kind that records on microcassettes. Dictate what you recall and then write it up the next morning.

Keep A Record. Place your dream write-ups in a journal, with each dream dated and titled. Titles need not be elaborate; all they need to do is reflect the major event or prevailing mood of the dream. After the dream record, include a brief statement summarizing how you are feeling about your life - any significant preoccupations, accomplishments or stressors - and your first impression of what the dream might mean. Reread your dream journal periodically. Over time, you may see patterns emerge and gain new insights into the meaning of your dreams. Because REM periods lengthen during successive sleep cycles, dreams occupy more of sleep as the night progresses and typically become more elaborate. Expect to experience longer dreams toward morning. The easiest dreams to capture are the final ones of each night, the ones that occur shortly before you wake up. If you like to recall your dreams th5B3roughout the night, remember that REM periods occur approximately every 90 minutes. Try setting an alarm to wake you one or more times at multiples of 90 minutes from the time you retire. If you have remembered your dreams only rarely, it may take a few months to develop consistent dream recall. Do not get frustrated. There is always another night.

Get Plenty Of Sleep. Adequate rest is essential to good dream recall. In addition, those who feel well-rested cope better with brief wake-ups in the wee hours to record their dreams.

Be Still. When you awaken to record your dreams, move as little as possible. Motion tends to dissipate dream memories.

Talk To Yourself. When you go to sleep, as you get comfortable in bed, declare aloud your intentions: "Tonight I am going to remember my dreams."

When There is Strong Desire, There is a Way

Before I go any further with a new story, I'd like to share with you my newly overhauled website that now has a couple of videos on it. This gives everyone a chance to see and hear me in action. Here is the website: www.sjhopson.com

Okay, now let's get on with my latest story, shall we? Most of you already know I am an inspirational speaker and that this is how I make my living. Well, since I am still in the process of building my speaking career, I am occasionally called to give a free speech here and there in an effort to get my name out there and sharpen my presentation skills. I always go to these freebies with the attitude that you never know what will occur because the most amazing and unexpected miracles do and can happen.

The Zonta International Group in Akron, Ohio invited me to give a presentation to their club earlier this month. The topic that night was "The Jordan Factor," one of my favorite stories about the impact my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Jordan, made on my life so many years ago. You can see a description of the speech here: http://www.sjhopson.com/speaking-titles.htm

At one point during the speech, I mentioned how everyone comes together for a specific and divine purpose to help one another at just the right time. I related to them that was what my fifth grade teacher did for me so many years ago. A lot of heads were bobbing up and down - they seemed to understand.

Then came time for questions and answers. A lady in the far corner of the room raised her hand and asked that I tell them about my writing endeavors. I had no idea who she was but apparently she had read my biography from my website and I was grateful for the reminder.

So I proceeded to tell them about some of my short stories that were published in books like "Chicken Soup for the College Soul" and others. Then I shared the experience of how I finally landed a prominent literary agent in 2000 after many rejections (he once represented Mother Teresa). We ended up signing a contract and together we worked diligently for several months on a proposal for my first manuscript. After he and I were satisfied with our work, he went shopping among the nation's top publishers.

Despite all the hard work that went into the book proposal, all of them turned us down!

The agent eventually suggested that perhaps the timing was off and that we part ways. Crestfallen but not crushed, I shelved the book project. I was operating under the assumption that it was just a matter of timing, having patience and faith - lots of it.

"That was 7 years ago," I told the attentive audience. "Even though the project with that literary agent didn't work out, I firmly believe it wasn't an accident. Perhaps the universe was 5B4preparing me for something down the road through that experience."

I ended the speech with, "everything happens for a reason."

Little did I know this would trigger a series of amazing events that has taken place since that moment.

The same lady in the far corner immediately raised her hand again and said she would be happy to help in any way she could with my publishing aspirations. I thought that was sweet and thought nothing more of it.

I still had no idea who she was. She didn't look familiar nor did I recognize her name when we business exchanged cards. Her parting word were, "I can't promise anything but I'd be happy to help if I can." I thought to myself, "Okay cool. Whatever happens, happens."

As soon as I got home, I looked her up on the Internet and what I saw shocked me beyond comprehension.

Would you believe that this humble lady whose face and name I never recognized, is the author of twenty five books?!?!?! What's more, she is also represented by one of the most successful literary agencies in New York City - an agency that represents celebrities like Brittany Spears, Kareem Abudl-Jabbar, Larry Bird, Terry Bradshaw, Donna Karan (famous designer), Ed McMahon (Johnny Carson's sidekick), Michael Reagan, etc.!

Who knew such a miraculous encounter would ever happen in a small sleepy town of Akron, Ohio? Discovering someone like her is like finding a needle in a haystack that you could ne5B4ver expect find unless you happened upon it by chance!

I later learned that when she was just getting started, she had no money, no prospect for self-publishing (because she couldn't afford it) but someone came into her life and helped her get started. She was put in touch with a well established literary agent (the same one she is affliated with now) and the rest was history. She is now letting the circle complete itself by reaching out to someone like me.

She is helping me whip in shape a book proposal for my newly revised and updated manuscript aptly entitled "That's Right Stephen!" She thinks some pretty powerful people in the literary and entertainment world just might be interested in doing something with my story and my manuscript.

Think about it. If I hadn't accepted that freebie speech, none of this would have transpired. I'll tell you one thing - I never fail to be in awe of the incredible power of the universe! And the funny thing is, we're just getting started on this new adventure!

Food for Thought: There is always hope. When there is a strong desire, there is always a way.

Law Of Attraction - Are You Striving For Success By Swimming Upstream?

Do you ever find yourself struggling and forcing yourself to get what you want? Isn't it time to take the effortless route?

You know those times when you set a new goal, and then when you make an effort for its achievement, it feels like a struggle or even frustrating to do whatever it is you are doing?

The feeling of struggle and frustration is not caused by the task or the goal; it is caused by a believed thought. For example, if your goal is to get your business up and running and as you sit down to work, a thought comes to mind like why does this have to be so difficult.

I would like to invite you to go in your mind and watch yourself as you believe the thought why does this have to be so difficult. What kinds of things to you do? What does your facial and bodily expressions look like? Besides the feeling of struggle and frustration generated within your body, do you notice that the effort you make is also labored? How long does it take for you to reach your goal when you believe this thought?

You are going to do everything you can to reach your goal anyway and you have to believe something, so why believe a thought that works against you? You are the creator here, and thoughts are your gift to create with.

Believe thoughts that assist you in reaching your goals not work against them. The thought why does this have to be so difficult5B5 is designed to produce procrastination, feelings of struggle, frustration and even failure. Unless procrastination, struggle, frustration, and failure is your goal, why believe this thought.

Instead, you might try a thought like yes, this may be difficult but that doesn't mean impossible. Then, hold the new thought in your mind for a few seconds and mentally imagine yourself as you work on anything and everything. Watch yourself as you work on things you have never done before, and even things others might believe is impossible. Feel the energy inside your body when you believe this thought? See yourself working on your projects and notice the difference this new thought makes? How do you interact with others? How do you influence business associates, friends your children or your spouse? What might they learn from you? What are the end results of believing this new thought? Is this thought programmed to produce results that match your goal? Do you find that believing this thought helps you reach your goal easier and potentially faster?

Out of the two thoughts why does this have to be so difficult and , this may be difficult but that doesn't mean impossible:

  • Which thought is programmed to reach your goal?
  • Which thought produces the feelings you prefer in your body?
  • Which of the two thoughts helps you reach your goal faster?

If you would like more information on success producing thoughts please visit our website at http://www.secretpowerofthought.com Sherri Hatch is the author of The Secret Power of Thought Five Week E-Course Take this e-course and change your life.

You're Kid's A Genius

! - The Illusion Has Become Real

There’s an old joke about two schoolboys that basically goes as follows: Johnny, one of the boys, would go off to school every morning, and as he left his mother would yell, “Johnny, don’t forget your lunch!” The other boy, Steven, would go off, and as he did, his mother would yell, “Steven, don’t forget your books!” Johnny grew up to be a successful restaurateur and Steven a world-renowned brain surgeon.

I think you get the gist of the joke. Johnny’s mother, by placing an emphasis on lunch, unwittingly steered her son to pursue a gastronomic career; whereas, Steven’s mother, by placing an emphasis on books, either consciously or unconsciously steered her son toward a career in medicine. As Gordon Gekko said in the movie Wall Street, “The illusion has become real, and the more real it becomes, the more desperate they want it.” By relating this quote back to the joke of the two schoolboys, you can see that the illusion of being smart to Steven had become very real indeed. Whether he was born smart or not does not matter. Once the illusion crystallizes into reality, the desire to attain the object behind it becomes desperate.

The point here is that self-perception is critical to both failure and success. If we raise our children to expect failure—indeed to deem themselves as failures—then guess what? Failure is as certain as a downpour from three large overhanging black clouds. On the contrary, if we breed into our children a self-perception of success and triumph, then success is as certain as daybreak after dark.

Remember parents. Your children—our children---are our future. We need to handle them with great care. There is enough criticism to go around for a thousand generations. In raising our kids, let’s not make the mistake of buffeting them with constant criticism. If you want your kids to do well in school, convince them that they are smart and will do well in school. If you want them to be aces in math, expect them to be whiz kids and tell them how smart they are with numbers and that sort of thing.

Watch the results as the illusion becomes real. If you doubt what I say, try this out for a short period of time and see the changes that occur in your kids. Force upon them naturally the desire to want the illusion. Once you set this force in motion, the rest is self-fulfilling. After all, what is the alternative? If you try this and your kid does not end up a brain surgeon, he might end up being a very successful restaurateur.
